Spent a semester in Berkeley, then on to U of Oregon for a BA/BS. Further on to U of Wash, for a PhD in English Lit (or something like that)...all prepared for teaching at college.
Life makes lots of changes. He spent a bit of time in the military, and then on to Europe where he met his wife, a Swiss lady.On to the rest of his life: He has become an Metal Artist. I found him after reading our Sun (Eugene newspaper) about a guy named Jim Adler who was having a difference of opinion about A Whale's Tail Sculpture he has showing on the main city street of Yatchats.
Great visiting, meeting his wife, etc., etc. He was dumbfounded after we sat down and I started talking about the newspaper article, to distract his attention. I causaly mentioned 4th floor, Douglas Hall....He squirmed a bit; We drank a couple more gulps of wine... and I finially said, "Hi, I'm Cappy." It will be good to have him come to our 50th next year!
